There is some hype to this one for me... It has a garage three times the size of our current one!

Oh, I guess my wife likes the “house” part of the thing this far. I was less interested, as I only care that it’s in good condition and that I don’t have to duck my head (happens more than you think... Lots of so-called finished basements out there not made for even a 5'11" person!). I care about three things: 1) location, 2) garage, and 3) house not falling apart.

I love how the highest rated drama on this car-related channel has become a house search. HGTV should be so lucky to have this story.

1. Minimum 2 car carage

2. Close to where I work

3. A bathroom would be nice.

I think you’re on to something. Everyone loves reality shows now. How about a reality show of several couples searching for homes in places with high home prices like Seattle, New York, and the Bay Area?

It would have a bunch of drama that people love to watch AND it would be HGTV type material.

I wish my wife didn’t have all these other requirements, as this would have worked great for me. Instead, I’m wasting 35-40min each way every day when I commute to work. Ugh. At least I got a garage in the deal.

It turns out the other offer wanted the seller to throw in a bunch of things like the washer/dryer etc. The seller didn’t want to deal with it so we got it. Fingers crossed for you guys.

That really sucks. We were going to do the contingent thing too but our agent advised against it and thankfully we were able to get the loan pre-approved without it. Now we’re really hoping our house sells without a hitch.

Contingent offers are tough. I still see a few go through, but they’re not too attractive for sellers in this market. Which really sucks because unless you have one home’s worth of savings, you have to either take out a crazy loan or sell your current home and hope you find something.
